How To Snowskate A Resort

The best rules/advice we can give you to get riding at a ski mountain.

Wait, There are Snowskate Movies? Like skate flicks?

Heck yeah! A lot of companies have put out films over the years. Others are just made my snowskaters themselves. Some legendary films from the '00s are hard to find though. Here's a neat single deck flick from Ambition.

You have a Convention too!?

Yes we do! Well, sort of. It's mostly a big party/gathering at the mountain. But every year at Jay Peak we have the East Coast Snowskate Convention. On March 21st & 22nd of 2026 we're having our10th in fact!!!! Meet up ~10AM at the Stateside Firepit for a group ride after lunch, raffle ~4:20 PM. Here's some footage from 2024!

(2025 footage link can be found on the "When is..."? page)

How deep can you ride them?

As deep as it gets, and you feel safe! When it's all fluff, most transition back to 'single-deck' powdersurfers, some even using split-variants to skin up to chase the deepest of lines.

Woah! Is this just some crazy American thing?

Hell no! Didn't you on here, we're all over? Not only are there snowskaters and snowskate companies across the world, there's often a powdersurfing culture at the root of it all.

You ride in the slush & mud?

Heck yeah! Slushly snow is surfy, forgiving, & warm weather is as comfortable as it gets. Some ppl snowskate barefoot (if they have all-foam though!) and throw on flip-flops just to get on the lift without frost bite.
